Maggie Omamoni

Project Manager

Maggie Omamoni is a management professional with over 16 years of experience across post-secondary education, workforce development, and government-funded initiatives. She recently joined Niagara College’s Research and Innovation division as Project Manager for the Southern Ontario Network for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation (SONAMI), where she coordinates activities related to collaborative research initiatives between academic institutions and industry partners, while helping drive advanced manufacturing innovation across Southern Ontario.
In this role, Maggie is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the network, working closely with member institutions and managing reporting related to performance metrics and financials in accordance with funder agreements.

Prior to joining SONAMI, Maggie served as an International Academic Quality Consultant in the Centre for Academic Excellence at Niagara College, where she supported program evaluation cycles, quality assurance audits, and policy alignment with provincial standards.

She also held the role of Project Manager for the Saint John Local Immigration Partnership, working with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the City of Saint John, New Brunswick, and a range of provincial partners and agencies. There, she led multi-stakeholder strategies to support economic development, population growth, community integration, and cross-sector collaboration.

Maggie holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, and brings a strong track record in managing complex, multi-phase projects. She looks forward to supporting SONAMI’s mission through effective coordination, strategic reporting, and collaborative innovation.

Mitchell Lutz

Industry Partnerships Manager 

Mitchell Lutz is the Industry Partnerships Manager for the Southern Ontario Network for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation (SONAMI), a Niagara College-led consortium of post-secondary institutions supporting manufacturers’ research and development needs through applied research projects. In his role, Mitchell is responsible for researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives and supporting the recruitment and outreach activities of the network.

Mitchell brings an array of experience in project management, marketing, and business development to the SONAMI team. After spending time growing his business at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, Mitchell spent the last 5 years as a Training Resource at Canadian Tire Financial Services, helping design and develop blended learning solutions using data and insights aimed towards meeting business objectives.

A proud alumnus, Mitchell holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – International Commerce & Global Development, and a Diploma in International Business, from Niagara College.
