We are encouraged by the volume of support and outreach that we have received to help address the COVID-19 outbreak.

Thanks to the support of FedDev Ontario – SONAMI and its Partner Institutions have access to heightened levels of funding, up to 100 per cent, in order to support companies as they rapidly respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by building a Canadian supply of essential equipment, products, and therapeutics. The funding is intended to help manufacturers to provide a high-quality, rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Project Parameters: These projects must have a short turnaround time (ideally under 4 months), be based in Southern Ontario, and directly support the prevention and spread of COVID-19. If you have a project idea that will support this effort, please contact the SONAMI team to assess the project and connect you to our partners.

Further Activities for SONAMI

SONAMI & its Partner Institutions are working to the best of our ability, within certain constraints, to deliver applied research goals as expected by our various stakeholders, including our valued industry partners.

Please note that because of the COVID-19 spread, our Partner Institutions have suspended all on-campus classes, and field work, while employees have been asked to work remotely as of March 16. 

This also means that no outside visitors are allowed on the various Partner campuses at this time. We ask for your patience in the case of delay.

The most current public health guidelines have directed that people are to limit face-to-face meetings and our Partner Institutions are all abiding by that guideline, so these meetings may need to be postponed, or move them into a teleconference, email or online space.

Thank you for your flexibility in working with us on alternate delivery of these meetings.
